a depressing thought: steak = sin

So I grew up believing that before Adam and Eve sinned nothing died. This includes animals. Which means that before sin entered the world, Adam and Eve were vegetarians. This way of thinking means that steak is a product of the fall...

So is it Christian to say that I should avoid eating meat?

your thoughts?

I have to thoughts on that, the first is Jesus ate lamb, and the second was he said what goes into the stomach isn't sin, but only what comes out of the heart. Ergo steak does not equal a sin.

i think that this idea is a culturally significant idea that doesn't hold water in a society where the meaning is lost. Plus think of it this way. we do live in a culture where things die, and since we are given dominion, and if (in the OT) something now must die for sin to be attoned for (this is really bad theology post cross) bring on the steak, burgers and venison!
